I have an issue with some TV shows showing up if I go into list mode but if I turn on the show by seasons, the seasons do not show up but it does show that I have more “new episodes” available. Anyone seen this issue and/or know how to fix it?
The link is asking for a OneDrive/Microsoft username and password.
What client are you using? If a computer to watch video, what browser?
pic worked for me…
that being said – it looks odd indeed.
Adding to darcilicious’ question:
which exact version of Plex Web are you using?
I’m not sure what’s odd exactly? That’s what mine looks like at the show level; the orange 4 indicates four unwatched episodes in season one.
What’s odd exactly? Are there seasons missing?
If you look at the big picture there are 27 new episodes. There are several seasons in my library that are not listed. If I go to edit and turn off show seasons, it shows all episodes. This is shown like this on both my chrome web browser and most recent Iphone app. Here is the get info data for one episode that shows up and one that does not.

What version of the web client are you using? And what URL?
I cannot not find a web version in the chrome player but I use http://192.168.0.130:32400/web/index.html# to access it.
The Iphpne app is 5.17.1
Can you try refreshing the metadata for the Chicago P.D.? You are missing the description for the series so I’m wondering if something didn’t complete correctly. From the page in your first screenshot, click the 3 dots and then click Refresh Metadata and let that complete and see if anything changes.
And to get the Web Client version you are using, click on the wrench and screw driver icon, then make sure you are under Web Client - General (if not, click on General under the Web Client section in the left panel). That screen will tell you the version of the Web Client you are on.

Wow I had looked at web client many times and didn’t see it… Version 3.104.2
No change after refreshing meta data.
Here is what I see when I hide seasons, all of the episodes show up:
- Do you see this issue when if you go to https://www.plex.tv and launch Plex Web from there (the Plex hosted version is always the latest version)
- Are you hiding/showing the seasons on a series by series bases or by switching the default library setting?
- Have you tried to preview the Plex UNO Web version and see if the issue still happens?
- Try opening an incognito browser and logging into Plex Web and see if you still have the same issue (I realize it happens on the iOS also)
- Try doing an optimize database: Settings -> [Manage] Troubleshooting -> Optimize Database; See if that has any effect
- Do your files have any local metadata within them (not sure what metadata might cause this issue, but worth a shot to check)?
Not sure if any of that will help/give additional ideas if you still have the issue, but just some things I can think of trying.
Do you share your library with anyone remotely? If so, could you ask somebody you are sharing with to check if they are seeing the same issue? If not, if you want to/are willing, you can let me know and temporarily share your TV show library with myself and I can check quickly (then you can remove me once I check). I don’t mind either way, just figured I’d put the offer out there.

Tried this with the same results

By changing just this series, problem still exists if I choose library default

Where do I check this? The files were creating using the DVR function in Plex.
If they were created using the Plex DVR, then I would think they would not have any embedded metadata. But to check this, you should be able to right click the file from Windows Explorer and then click on Properties then go to the Details tab. If there was any metadata within the file that would cause an issue, that should allow you to see it. You could also download mediainfo, which is a program that would allow you to open the file and it would show the metadata within.
Aside from everything I have asked/suggested, I don’t have any other thoughts. Ironically, I just added that show yesterday (but not from a DVR recording) and I have no issues seeing all the episodes when in season view.

So I stumbled across an old post this morning and tried it step by step. I was able to fix the problem using this link. Thanks for all the help. The complete "fix your metadata" post
Glad to hear you got if figured out.
I was going to suggest looking at the agents to see if the Local one was first or something, but I didn’t think about the fact that you would need to do the Plex Dance (essentially the steps in the post you linked to about removing the files and all that). On top of that, I was to lazy (I know :P) to type something up about all that. Sorry about that, but at least you got it resolved.
