Even if I use the web version at https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/ and log in to my server and pick a tv show, it only shows the current episode. Plex will let me pick from the current season only.
The selecting season has affected the Windows desktop, Linux server, and web version. The android version still works ok.
I use plex so I can watch what I want when I want
Could you provide a screenshot? I am not sure what you are describing.
i reposted it in bugs this only happens if you click home then a show with seasons.
if you search for the show then it will work properly. Updated today. Seasons are broken/missing for tv series
i was talking with some in the “plex media server support group” on facebook and there is more pictures there from another person.

What precisely are you doing, when you “pick a tv show”?
Are you perhaps clicking in “Continue Watching” or in “Recently Added”?
Continue Watching is supposed to bring you directly to the next episode.
“Recently Added” will bring you either to the show, or the season, or an episode – that depends on how many episodes of this show have been added together within 12 hours.
From this episode preplay screen you can get easily to the show by clicking on the show title.
i simply click my tv library and pick ANY series that has multiple episodes and NO SEASON but the current one shows now. It worked till I updated today.
If I use plex search on the exact same show then the season will appear.
I have plex set to only retrieve data from local media assist and not from any online database if that makes a difference.
I disabled updates on my Android tv so the version on it is still working.
ok this gets even more weird some shows work some do not. if a show like the chi has s5e1 no seasons will show. the episode drop down is missing also on that show.
If after you open tv then under a show with seasons click the season then the drop down will show seasons. But if you click the episode the it only shows episodes and there is no way to get to seasons.
is debian running on a older version that seems to be part of the problem the auto update put 1.16 on mine other people on ubuntu are using 1.17
this bug happens on linux server plex web and windows. Android is still older version.
you start plex and click home. i have my server tv and server movies pinned on home. so I click tv.
If I click a show with multiple seasons it only shows the currently playing season and only lets me select those episodes.

oh more problems i installed the 1.17 and it seemed to lock up I rebooted and reinstalled it. when I try to start plex from the button in debian it says nothing at localhost:myport
In your screenshot, you’re in episode view. That drop down In the upper right is for navigating “sideways” in the current level. On the Episode level, it only lets you pick other episodes from the same season. To see all seasons of a show, click the name of the show next to the poster. This takes you to the Show level, which will display all seasons. Each level shows items of the level below them.
Show
_>Season
__>Episode
Most likely, if you click on an entry on the Home page, you might notice the bit of text below the picture is for a very specific episode. Clicking that does not take you to the show, but that specific episode.
BTW, nothing seems to have changed in the last few (many?) versions of Plex. This is always how Plex has behaved for me. *shrug*
im using debian and for some reason it is at 1.26 were people on ubuntu seem to be on 1.27. I tried to put 1.27 on my debian but that was a mistake now plex will not start. I decided to reinstall linux rather than figure it out.
the plex 1.27 runs on debian after reinstall. my original had the latest kernal .
everyone reported to me that 127 was showing seasons ok . I hope when I get this all reconfigured that holds true for me. thanks for you help you can close this out.
First of all:
Edit your TV shows library,
go to the Advanced tab
verify that “Seasons” is not set to simple “Hide”.
With this out of the way, check your server database file for damage
Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.
