SIGH What now

So, I got a notification that there had been a login on my account somewhere that I wasn’t at… so it said to change password and I did.

Now, when I bring up Plex Media Server, from icons in task section of Win 10, all there is is a black screen on browser with PLEX in the middle of it and nowhere to sign in.

What have I screwed up now? And how do I fix it and log in.

Thanks

You may have given your account and new password to that fishing agency that just hit pay dirt…

Can you sign out - then sign back in (with the new password)?
(under your ‘Account Icon’ - upper right)

NOPE Can’t sign in

I get a “sign in” bar and when I click it I get the black screen with Plex logo only

sounds bad.

‘Professional aide’ may be along shortly.

I will ping @OttoKerner as he is most likely to know what to do next.

I suggest you close/delete that other thread you just made.

You must not use ‘Login with Google’.
Use “Login with Email” and use your email address as your user name and the new password you created.

Thanks for your time Otto.

I don’t use
“Login with Google” I use “Login with email”

I can login to PLEX Media Player. But when I try to login to PLEX Media Server, there is nothing to type to, no button, no fields to type into. I just get a Grey Screen with the PLEX logo in the middle.

I deleted all the PLEX apps from my desktop and re-downloaded and re-installed. Still same.

Technically you don’t login to the server.
You login to the web app.
Which web app are you using?

Did you tick the checkbox “Sign out connected devices…” when you changed the password?

I am using PLEX Media Player Version 4.29.2 for windows 10

I don’t believe I did check the “sign out of all” box … sorry… feel foolish about all this and thank you very much for your time.

Please use the web app for now. http://localhost:32400/web and https://app.plex.tv

Once you have successfully signed into that, we can handle PMP.

When I click on https://app.plex.tv everything is fine.

When I click on http://localhost:32400/web I only get the Gray screen with the PLEX logo in the middle and no other way to proceed

Have you tried the ‘incognito’/‘privacy’ mode of your web browser? This is supposed to disable potentially interfering browser addd-ons etc.

Incognito window did allow me to sign in and open http://localhost:32400/web

Think it might be pop-up blocker doing this?

Or some other browser add-on. No other way to find out than disabling them one by one until it works.
Then re-enable until it breaks again.
Then try and find a way to define an exception for the localhost in the settings of that add-on.

Thanks for all the help Otto. I appreciate your valuable time.
