Silent updates on a macosx plex server?

Server Version#: 1.21.2.3939-3945797bd

Hi,
I’m using a Plex server on a headless mac mini on my network. But every time it updates, it quits and then I need to vnc in to enter my admin password.
Is there a way to make the updates happen silently without having to enter my admin password every time ?
Thank you
glouk

I would recommend turning auto updates off and doing them manually. Plex Auto Update bit me several times in the past. Manually you can control when it happens so you have an idea of why something goes fubar when it does.

If I’m upgrading from a stable release first I will quit Plex then Zip that version in the Applications folder and keep it in case I need to roll back. Then I can drag copy a freshly downloaded version for the upgrade. This procedure has also saved my bacon quite a few times.

Downloading releases from the web page also allows you to archive them in case you want to roll back or reinstall later. Just my method but it’s served me well so far. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, CWallace.
However this is exactly the opposite of what I’m asking : I would like the updates to be done automatically without having to enter my admin password every time.
Cheers
