The Plex iOS app notifies you that your server can be updated remotely, but your Mac will stop that update and wait for you to enter your credentials! I am not clear on why Plex requires elevated privileges to update Plex when the current account has admin privileges.
Can someone explain why Plex needs sudo to install an update?
If you are out of town… essentially you will not be able to use Plex until you fly home from vacation and enter your password and hit “Continue”. No warning in Plex iOS. If you are lucky and have set up a VNC server beforehand you can get in and enter your admin password to complete the update… if not, you’re screwed.
