If anyone is having and issue with the older generation HDHomeRun Showing up please ensure you have the latest firmware installed on your device, and that you are running PMS 1.5.0. If it is still not working please let me know which platform your have PMS running on and the HDHR you are trying to use

HDHomeRun DUAL
Model: HDHR3-EU
Device ID: 12200E3A
Firmware: 20161117

Plex 1.5.0.3501 on Ubuntu Server 16.04.2

Device is found by Plex but when I select Denmark / Cable I get an ini file reference instead of a list of providers. Please refer to my earlier post with screen shots.

The tuner is working fine with other software like TVHeadend and HDHomerun View.

I am running the latest software.

Where is the hdhomerun setup program located? My server is running 16.04 Ubuntu and the only other OS in my house that isn’t Linux is Mac OSX.

And I am running 1.5 of PMS.

What happens if you hit scan again after the ini file reference is shown?

@“Dean Junk” install file download should be right below the device list on the my.hdhomerun.com site. If I click the Mac link a dmg install file is downloaded to my computer. I personally have always used the HDHomerun program to scan channels before using the HDHomerun on my computers, even with Windows Media Center setup I used to have installed.

This is the only setup/config program for Mac OSX:

tiff format didn’t upload well.

I don’t use a Mac normally. Just pulled out a MacBook Pro my son uses and see the issue. Hovering on the link under my Dual on the my.hdhomerun.com site says to configure the device on a Windows computer. Might have to have one of the Plex Employees give their advice.

Thanks for trying!!

I did install virtualbox on my ubuntu server with windows 7 and downloaded the hdhomerun setup software, it couldn’t find ANY of my hdhomerun devices. I could ping them from virtualbox, but it couldn’t find any of them.

The HDHomeRun Tuner does not require configuration outside of Plex as Plex Media Server handles the channel scanning etc. You simply need to ensure the firmware has been upgraded if it is not being detected.

If you can please provide your Plex Media Server and Plex Tuner Service logs along with platform and Tuner model, I can investigate on Monday.

It scans but finds no channels.

You may want to make sure your VirtualBox NIC is set to Bridged mode. While you shouldn’t need much setup on the HDHomeRun it is important to make sure the firmware is up to date.

I figured out the issue. The firewall was blocking Plex from seeing the device. When I disabled the firewall, it saw both duals that I have.

Where can i find the Plex Tuner Service logs

1> confirm they have this working for the dual-us hdhr-us for antenna

In Ubuntu the tuner logs are in the same folder as the PMS logs.

I found out why it doesn’t find any channels:
dvb_channel_scanner_t::do_scan. Tune failed for 346000,V,6900,QAM64

The symbol rate is wrong; YouSee (my provider) use 6875 so it is probably related to the fact that I get an ini file instead of a list of providers…

@“livøvænget”

If it’s easy you can simply use the Download Logs option under server settings.

Please upload the ZIP file here and I can hopefully figure out what the issue is.

@dragonmel

We have an HDHR Dual (HDHR3-US with firmware: 20161117) in our Plex QA Lab and have been testing it with Antenna (for free over-the-air broadcasts.)

Please ensure your firmware is up-to-date on the device and that your antenna is connected correctly if you are having issues, after trying that, and if you still have issues, please provide logs via the Download Logs option under server settings.

@adamchri I have PM’ed you about this with the hopes of understanding the issue.
