SiliconDust HDHomerun tuners

Wow, fairly big news. In case people missed it…

(DVR) Support all SiliconDust HDHomerun tuners, including older generations

Great job, Plex!!

I didn’t miss it, but “All” is a bold statement and doesn’t usually mean mean the original HDHR-US as well. Can anyone confirm? I’ll go plug mine back in if it does.

Yeah, it didn’t see my older duals. Do you have to add them differently?

Did you update your server to the 1.5.0 release?

I’ve gathered there’s an older rev of the current line up. I expect “All” and “Older Generations” actually means of the current line up.

It finds my Dual, however, it is trying to use my cable guide (from the prime) . Does it support multiple guides?

Believe you have to create 2 DVR’s to have different guides. GUI doesn’t allow you to create 2 DVR’s but command line will from what I understand. Have not tried it myself. Search forum for thread discussing command line and adding multiple DVR’s.

Just validating that it does find older devices as well, found my old blue one!

Found my Dual as well.

It has been a while since I setup my DVR. I don’t recall the dropdown to select Antenna or Cable the last time. Is this new?

Yay! Thanks guys - found my HDHR3-DT without issue!

It finds my old HDHomeRun DUAL tuner - great, but I have no providers for Cable included. If I select Antenna I get a list of providers, but when I select Cable (and any country it seems) I just get an odd reference to an ini file.
Anyone else experiencing this?

They really do mean all older devices. I installed 1.5 this morning and it found a first generation HDHR I purchased in 2007.

I guess they don’t mean HDHR3-US?

They are all suppose to work

@“Dean Junk” As @hthighway asked have you tried it? You do have the latest server version (1.5.0.3501) installed correct? Plex DVR found my HDHD3-US (Dual) correctly.

I did try it. I get an error “There was a problem adding the device xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx”. I have to add it manually (as I had to for my connect and extend) since discovery doesn’t find anything (just get a spinning cursor). When you goto myhdhomerun.com does it show channels under your dual? Mine shows no channels and says “Use the hdhomerun setup program from a windows PC to configure this device” when I place the cursor over the no channels text. I don’t have a windows PC anywhere in my house and I can’t find the program it refers to on the silicondust website.

This seems to be the error when I try to add it manually.

From the Plex Tuner Service.log:
Mar 18, 2017 13:47:01.978 [0x7fadca428700] WARN - [E] web_service_t::operator(). Unknown resource request (incorrect number of parameters) /devices/

Yes mine does show channels.

Did you use the HDHomerun Utility to scan for channels?

If anyone is having and issue with the older generation HDHomeRun Showing up please ensure you have the latest firmware installed on your device, and that you are running PMS 1.5.0. If it is still not working please let me know which platform your have PMS running on and the HDHR you are trying to use

Same issue here. My two HDHR3-US tuners are running the latest firmware (20161117). PMS (1.5.0.3501) is running in a jail on FreeBSD 10.3-STABLE within a FreeNAS (FreeNAS-9.10.2-U2) setup.
