Where are the setting pages to control the display format of library content?
I need to turn off display of the meaningless space-wasting icons in the library content displays.
The default format - a blank icon space holder with the first few characters of file name below - is pretty much unusable.
In creating media file names, I took the trouble to include the most relevant information fields - without a simple list display of the full file name, Plex fails to display the information I need to select a title.
Plex has been around many years. I find it hard to believe that Plex can’t be configured for this kind of display - I must just be missing it.
After additional searching, I have discovered how to - in the Plex Web interface - display a simple file-name list view of library content: by creating all libraries of “Other Video” type, and then selecting “List View” from the drop-down box in the upper right corner.
However, I have yet to discover how to do the same thing with the Android Media Player app. Also apparently missing are basic features like to ability to specify a default display format for individual libraries, or globally; The automatic inclusion of additional fields, like file creation date, in the display; and the ability to set a default sort order by a particular column. These should be basic features within every media player app.
