Single device on network having issues seeing my plex server lately

Server Version#: 1.43.0.10492
Player Version#: 4.159.0 (plex web)

Long story short, I’ve got a flat network (single /24). there’s no vlans, no VPNs, no firewalls involved

the server is connected via ethernet

the client is also connected via ethernet, both to the same switch (an unmanaged gigabit switch)

Every other device in the house works just fine

Same login for server (win11) and the client (a surface pro 8, win11)

Web client, or the official desktop client I see the exact same issue

Long story short, when I connect to plex (app.plex.tv) via the browser, the loads up my server, but all of the thumbnails are empty, and it most times, it will NOT load the video file

If I open plex on my phone, ps4, ps5, or anyone else’s phone/tablet/pc everything works just fine

most times, if I stop and re-start plex on the server, this will get things working again for the night. I can now play as many videos as I want, until the next time I re-start my surface pro

I can NOT find any logical reason for this behaviour. all other networking things seem to be working fine

I can RDP from the surface to the server, np, and heck, i can even watch plex from the server over RDP

and like i said, even while the surface is having issues, every other device is having no issues at all

restarting the server seems to be the only thing that temp resolves this, but I’m not sure WHY

any thoughts?

ok cool, I’m so glad support here is so helpful

you’d think I had the plague, rather than a lifetime plex pass

See if Important note about the Plex Web app - Local Network Access applies.

holy smokes, that was 100% it

thumbnails now instantly load, no issues with it grabbing video content.

many thanks!
