I apologize for popping this thread back up, but I haven’t found this to be the case so far. I have a library with multiple folders: One folder with recordings from a non-Plex DVR system (NextPVR), and another folder with recordings from Plex. The whole library has the option checked for “Enable ad detection”, but the only recordings that get scanned for ads are the ones recorded by Plex. The other libraries don’t seem to scan, even on a schedule. It’s been a week since I enabled that option.
These libraries all contain TS files, mostly H264 but a few MPEG2. Doesn’t seem to matter, though.
Is this the desired behavior? I’d love to be able to scan non-Plex recordings, but I can’t seem to make it work. It’s weird to have the option available on a library, but not being applied to the files.
