Skip Intro button not useable after intro starts

Until recently, if the Skip Intro button has disappeared because I’ve let the intro start playing, I could still get to it by bringing up the player controls where the button would be in the top right, rather than the bottom right where it first appears automatically. Now however, the button doesn’t reappear while the player controls are open - instead it appears for about half a second still in the bottom right after the playback controls fade out, but if I press OK or arrow keys while it’s up it just bring up the playback controls again.

Has been an issue for a while now. No update other than “they are aware of it.”
