Skip intro only when media is added option

Server Version#: 1.27.1.5916
Player Version#:

Hi I wish plex dev add this option.Instead of on scheduled and when media is added (together in drop down list) on library settings.
Just because I want skip intro detection only on new files and only when I add them.

based on this article: Skip TV Show Intros | Plex Support

The available options are:

  • never – never analyze TV shows to find intro segments.
  • as a scheduled task – do the analysis during the regular server maintenance period.
  • as a scheduled task and when media is added – do the analysis for new items when they’re added and for existing items during the regular server maintenance period.

it would be possible to ADD when media is added alone that do this: do the analysis for new items when they’re added

The reason behind this request is:
because many anime episodes are impossible to detect and on schedule plex try again and again and again over the same files looking for intro that there are not or are not detected correctly… an example is Case Closed. i found out plex try to detect same season intro for days on the schedule maintenance period. is a waste of resoruces and I/O on disks

When i created the library(anime) i filtererd the library in season mode and selecting them in bunch of 500 season per time and click analyze. after i finished i setted on never the detect skip intro. when i add new item on library i enable it again on this option as a scheduled task and when media is added and set again on never once finish

I didn’t think that it tried to do no-intro shows more than once, unless the file changes? It should mark them as intro-scanned even if it doesn’t generate an intro tag.

as example i have a scheduled tasks from 3 pm to 6 pm
i have a series one piece with all intro marker setted

plex transcoder is now running doing again season 17

this is a xml for example of season 17 ep 100

why plex have to waste cpu resources and I/O on media disk doing useless stuff. is a nonsense
