So I'm having issues streaming some files to my PS4.
The files ar MKV and are of a TV show. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and rebooted Plex.
The video skips forward 20-40 seconds at a time, only playing for a second or two inbetween. It plays my movies just fine but does this to all of the episodes of the TV show. If I try to skip the episode it will sometimes crash the ap..
Any one have this issue or know possible soloutions?
Try unchecking Allow Direct Stream in the Settings > Video > Advanced menu. This will cause the video to be fully transcoded; this works best if Plex Media Server is running on a computer. To me is sounds like something in the MKV file is really wonky.
If this fixes it please consider generating a sample clip of the original MKV. If the sample clip recreates the problem then pass it my way. Plex can use it to file an issue with Sony.

Hi I'm having the same issue and that option did not work. I had a few movies and an Anime series that were mkv files. None of them worked until I converted them to mp4 files, so now the Movies work but the Anime series still skips. Any suggestions? I would also like to add that all the files work on my PC, it only happens when streaming.
I spotted this on a Level 5.1 MKV when played via Direct Stream. Disabling Direct Stream worked around that problem. I'll be fixing the Plex Media Server profile for the PlayStation app to work around this ourselves.
Ace, I'm not sure why the MP4 didn't work. Please post the media information here so we can check it out.
I've had the same issues on several series episodes regardless of filetype. Lowering the quality by 1 step always seemed to fix this issue for me, and especially with anime it was not a noticable difference.
