Slight picture difference between the Plex app and Plex inside Kodi

In testing and experimenting I have Kodi with the Plex addon installed on my Shield as well as the actuall Plex app. In testing I have noticed that, to my old eyes, the playback of videos from the same source looks slightly better inside of Kodi using the Plex addon than it does in the actual Plex app.

Is this expected or does anyone know why I might be seeing this? I will readily admit that my eyes are old (like the rest of me) and what I perceive as “better” may not be truly so but I am pretty sure that it is different.

I doubt I will use the Kodi implementation much as it does not seem to offer enough advantages to warrant the extra trouble to get to a show but it is interesting and I now have two different ways to access my Plex server from my Shield TV.

You’re seeing it because Kodi uses a custom video player and Plex uses Google’s ExoPlayer. There will be differences, albeit slight which is expected when 2 apps use different standards / api’s.

Please, use beta forums exclusively to report beta issues. Anyway, as @danjames92 says, it could be anything (including that).
