i just bought Raspberry Pi and installed Rasplex - everything went pretty smooth, I must say.
Unfortunately, playback is terrible. Even 900kb/s SD movies won't play, everything just stops after a second or two and struggles while buffering/pausing all the time.
I strongly suspect WiFi signal strenght is the bottleneck, even though other devices (laptops, iOS devices etc) work fine at the same location. Before I start replacing router antennas and look for stronger USB WiFi card, is there anything I can do to test the connection, like maybe see the transfer rate, signal strenght etc.
Unfortunately there is no way i can use CAT5 cables and see if wired Pi works okay (unless I get 20-25 meter cable, which would cost as much as new WIFI dongle with antenna).
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
