I upgraded to Plex Server Version 1.14.1.5488 from Plex Server 1.8.0… Plex Server 1.8.0 worked beautifully for so long, I mean, I had 11x transcode speeds, and I could have 8 streams going and no one would be able to tell.
Then Plex stopped working on certain devices and TV’s, so I ended up upgrading to the most recent Plex Server (which fixed those small issues), and it took a dump on itself.
I was just barely watching something while 4 other people were watching something. My transcode speed was 0.9x or less, while others were bouncing around there, maxing out at 1.2x. Randomly my brother in law jumped on and his transcode speeds were 30.9x. Now days if two or more people are watching something, the damn thing is buffering a ton. THE ONLY thing I’ve changed is the server version. No other settings have been touched, yet Plex takes a dump on itself. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!!
Almost forgot to mention, this computer is just for plex. It’s not even in the same state as me, and when I was buffering, my CPU usage on Task Manager was a meager 15%. WTH!!
