Smart Playlist duplication

Hi
I listen to music a lot and make extensive use of the Smart Playlists.

It seems that when I update the filters on an existing smart playlist and click UPDATE I finish up with duplicate playlist, As best I can work out one is the original, the other is the one with the updated filters. The process repeats if I do it again.

The confusion it causes aside, is this by design?

Thanks.

Where exactly are you experiencing this (e.g. in what app/version and what version of PMS)? I cannot reproduce this on my setup

Use a stock web browser (i.e. Chrome, Safari, or Firefox) and disable all browser add-ins.
Try to reproduce the issue.

OK, in the interest of humoring everyone,

Clean install Chrome on our main HTPC Linux desktop (Cinnamon). OS up to date.

Log into PMS running on current Ubuntu 20.04.n server. PMS is also latest stable.

I select an existing SMART PLAY LIST - this one is my “The Ladies” one, lots of female artists filtered.

Context Menu (three dots) > Edit Filters

Filters are “Match any of the following”, then a list of “Artists Title” > Contains >

I add a new filter as described.

I click “Update Playlist”

There’s a bit of a delay, then the “The Ladies” playlist page opens.

I return to “Music” > “Playlists” and Bingo, I now have two “The Ladies” playlists.

Comparing the two I see the first listed is the orginal, the second is the one i have just updated.

I have trained myself no to delete the first. I’m clever like that.

Anyhoo, no big deal, I can live with it.

Cheers

How many filter arguments are we talking here?

I remember an issue with another user who used a very high number of search arguments.
With the result that at some point the generated URL that was passed to the server became too long and was (probably) truncated, resulting in unexpected behaviour.

Too many, I reckon.
