Can anyone duplicate this and confirm it will not shuffle, but will play if simply played sequentially?
Background - I am still using some iPhone 4s phones (and my regular 8) attached to a JBL speaker dock to play music through. The 4s phones tend to crash when opening a playlist with track numbers that are somewhere above 5k, no big deal to work around. The issue is that most of the artists are at the beginning of the alphabet. Obviously if I keep playing the B’s will show up. I tried different ways of sorting the filtered list to make it more “random” but not having very good results. I decided to add the last statement which essentially means once any given song is played from an album, the entire album will disappear for a week.
Saving this as a playlist completes but the playlist thumbnail never gets created. Entering the playlist shows the 5k items to be played but pressing shuffle errors out. “Couldn’t Retrieve the Playlist.” Pressing play does start the playlist, but the queue loads up the whole album in sequence and will play it despite the fact that the album disappears from the playlist altogether after the first track is played. Even trying to shuffle from the Plex app filtered screen fails to shuffle.
Since we don’t have Playlists based on Playlists feature yet, what are some ways you have been able to get a good randomization of music in smart playlist?
