Hello. I created a smart playlist with certain conditions, ordered by popularity and limited to 100 songs.
It shows fine in Plexamp and also in Plex, as expected it only shows 100 entries. But if i try to play this playlist in shuffle mode, plexamp dismisses the “limited to 100” and shuffles everything, as if the limit wasn’t there.
Is this the expected behaviour, or a bug? I expected it to only shuffle those first 100 songs…
It’s a bug that was reported about 3 years ago. They issued a couple of fixes, but they weren’t successful. Here’s the old thread:
I was unable to reproduce this issue. I created a playlist:
Hit shuffle in the Plexamp playlist screen:
Checked that the resulting play queue had 25 items in it total; in addition, server logs showed:
PlayQueue: Added 25 items in 0.0 sec.
Hi Elan, thanks for the reply.
The question is, are those 25 shuffled, the same 25 showed in the playlist?
In my case, if I make a playlist of only 5 for example, with some conditions, and also in this case, ordered by popularity, so that the most popular tracks not listened in the last two months are the first to play, it shuffles 5, thats correct (or 25, or 100 as I first tried), but but not the 5 that are showed in the playlist, but other 5 for all the tracks that fill the criteria.
I’m attaching the server logs here and some screen captures.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the followup, I’ve identified this as a bug in the Media Server and fixed it.
Hi Elan, it seems to be working now! Thanks a lot!
Great to hear, thanks for the followup.
