Plexamp v4.12.4
iOS 16.7.12
I am unable to completely download a smart playlist of my songs onto my iPhone. The playlist is 304 tracks, 20 hours long. However, the same playlist downloaded to my phone is only 242 tracks, and approx 16 hours long. The list cuts off songs at around the S’s, so any song with a title beyond that letter will not be downloaded.
I hear in the past that there are duration limits (24 hours in the past, as high as 72 hours currently), but this falls below that limit. Additional searching (google ai) suggests there have been cases where it was a playlist TRACK count limit, but the counts people have encountered for that limit are also way above my own count (1000-1500, or as low as ~500).
Any ideas on the issue, or how I can troubleshoot? My playlist is simple, it just includes any song with a rating of over 4 stars. This is a great way for me to add or remove songs quickly from a single playlist I shuffle every time. I hadn’t noticed that it wasn’t the full list before just today when a song starting with “W” was one I realized I hadn’t heard, despite it being rated 5 stars.
Fantastic. I don’t know how the downloaded item had restricted itself to 16 hours. Honestly, I had looked at all menu items all over the app, and it hadn’t occurred to me that there was an “Edit” option on the download itself. Limit removed, playlist now refreshed. Thanks. Another playlist I had also had a limit, but that was higher than the current amount.
Just curious, since I would never have set a limit myself, it sounds like any created (or downloaded… hmmm) playlist purposefully sets a self-limit duration of the current playlist length (possibly plus a few minutes?) by default, rather than setting this limit to “No Limit”.
If this is the case, is there a reason this is the default behavior, and can we either edit this behavior for ourselves, or get the default to change for everyone?
It depends on the version of Plexamp which created it and a few other factors. It should generally offer you a dialog if it’s not going to download everything.
