Is there a reason why smooth Fades dont work while casting . But they do when using a blue tooth speaker?
The update is amazing by the way, I love the grid view and casting to my chromecast audios I have dotted about my house
Well done Plex folk

I think this is because when you’re playing via Bluetooth, audio is actually processed on your device, and then streamed to the speaker. So the sweet fades are handled in the Plexamp app.
When casting, I think Plexamp is just telling the Cast device what to do. “Hey, play this track from this server URL”. I don’t think Plexamp is processing the audio any more. So it’s whatever the Cast device supports, which might not include fade sweetness.
exactly right!
Ah ok.
That makes sense. Thank you
Bummer, but understood. I suppose all the volume processing goodness falls under the same category?
Is AirPlay possibly different? I thought that when I was using Plexamp on a iPad and sending to Sonos via AirPlay I was getting Sweetfades and normalization.
Yeah, AirPlay is sending the processed stream directly to the AirPlay speaker/device, so it has all the “goodies”.
