So, what does Plex Pass actually pay for?

I understand what it technically unlocks, but I’m more interested to hear where the money goes.

My Plex experience has been going downhill for the last year, with buggy PMS updates, an entirely broken/corrupted metadata database, and both Android and Chromecast player implementations that simply don’t work.

Using the forums for support doesn’t work, and of course the Plex Pass doesn’t include any sort of technical support.

So, if I’m not interested in the investments in Live TV/DVR or Online Media sources, what does the Plex Pass pay for?

I don’t see any issues reported for your account regarding PMS, do you perhaps have some more info on what problems you’re facing?

I didn’t post about it, but instead read threads on these forums for guidance.

I had a simple corruption of my metadata database on one of the updates a few months back. Just had to wipe it and rebuild.

The other issue I’m having right now is odd - During the last 2-3 minutes of a title, the playback will start buffering repeatedly. This happens with most players besides the web player (iOS, ATV, Android, Chromecast), so I assume it’s a server issue. Enforcing a transcode seems to fix it, but, even though my player settings suggest it should be enforcing a transcode, I need to toggle it back to ‘Automatic’ and again to the desired transcode rate for it to actually work. (Which is admittedly a player issue.)

Most of these are documented issues, but don’t have any employee troubleshooting in any related threads I’ve found.
