Is there any software out there like plex, but when you sit down with your family to watch a movie, you don’t have to do hours of trouble shooting?
It seems like everything is fine. Then an update comes in. And nothing works. I am not one of those people who has time to read logs and ■■■■. I just wanna watch a movie.
If you find a stable version stick with it
If you’re having a problem and you see a specific solution in the release notes, then ok
Most of the time this is not the case and nothing in there is related to you and yours

You also have a copy of the previous version you can roll back to fairly easy if something breaks
Don’t blindly update your server (or client, if you can avoid it). Certainly never let it automatically update.
As @JaysPlex said, when everything works the way you want it, don’t update it unless you want one of the new features… at which point, you should be prepared to test it out as soon as you do the update and be prepared to roll back to your previous version if necessary.
I can tell you that Jellyfin, Emby and Kodi all have their own issues that happen with some updates, just like Plex does. There’s no such thing as Perfect in the software world.
