On the home screen, next to the library with the issue ie: Movies, click the 3dots … and select EDIT
In ‘EDIT LIBRARY’ click on ‘ADD FOLDER’
Redirect the library path to somewhere empty of media ie. c:\Temp
Click the ‘X’ next to your present media library (with the problem) to remove the path to your media files (it will not delete the contents)
Click ‘SAVE CHANGES’
Close PLEX SERVER and restart it
Replace the media path in the same way you added the empty folder
Click ‘SAVE CHANGES’
Your folder will be refreshed and all the empty folders will have disappeared
Good workaround. For me it was even more simplier.
In the library editing window, on the Add Folder tabe, I removed my folder with the X, (at this point Save Changes gets disabled as there’s no folder added at all), re-added the same folder, Save Changes and done. The library content gets refreshed and finally all the non-existent folders are gone.
So it’s easy with this workaround but still a shame there’s no support for this.
I was also having this issue but kszilli’s suggestion did not work - and I was too lazy to try david’s option…so…
I actually had a 2nd issue of movies showing up twice, and so I tried to solve that first, and that solution ended up fixing this deleted files issue. So try it it may work for you:
See this post and the option to disable a “Collection” for a particular Library. For me I have each folder on Synology map to a Genre - 80s, Action, etc.
Once I Disabled the Collection option for each - my issue went away completely, both problems.
I disabled instead of the “ignore” option because if I only have the first movie in a collection, let’s say Jaws 1, but not 2+, Plex still shows it as a collection with 1 movie. So I used disable option and it displayed how I want.
Anyway, take a look, might fix your deleted items still showing up issue!
