(Solved) My LG TV app doesn't find my PC media server

Hi!

I updated my PC to Windows 11 about a month ago (Windows 11 Home 21H2, build: 22000.318), and since then, I can’t reach my media server. Neither on my LG 55UH6157-ZB TV, nor through iOS app (it says my server is offline). I use the latest releases of both media server and the LG app (see below). I tried re-installing both of them, I renamed my server, checked my network connection, but I ran out of ideas. Please help. :frowning:

Server Version# (on my PC): 1.24.5.5173-8dcc73a59
Player Version# (on smart TV): 5.0.1
Plex Media Server Databases_2021-11-23_20-38-50.zip (258.4 KB)
Plex Media Server Logs_2021-11-23_20-38-33.zip (970.0 KB)

Check in Windows that the Ethernet interface is set to Private, not Public.

Not sure how to do that in Win 11. In Windows 10 it is Settings → Network & Internet → Properties.

Regarding the LG, see the announcement below. You need to check and possibly modify settings for secure communications for both the Plex TV app and the Plex server.

you could try turning your firewall security off, a risky venture I know but it worked for me. I also made sure that I’d deleted PLEX completely before re-downloading. Remote access would be active for no more that 15 seconds, it was a real pain! running Version 1.25.0.5246
library for TV is rubbish as it’s not accessing the correct posters etc… I’m also running 11 and LG OLED55B8PLA

welcome.
