SOLVED: No 4K HDR on Nvidia Shield Pro

Server Version#: 1.26.2.5797
Player Version#: 9.3.1.33134 (cfdfeb6c)

I’ve got an Nvidia Shield Pro connected to a 4K HDR TV. A couple of weeks ago I had no issues streaming and playing 4K HDR content (sorry, I’m unsure of the exact combinations of working player and server versions), but now the content is forcibly transcoding to “1080p HDR”, as shown overlaid on the play screen (but actually displays SDR). No option on the client to change resolution higher than 1080p HD 8Mbps. When I disable transcoding on the server, I get “Unable to play media” on the client.

Among what is in the server log, there is “selected audio stream is not the first audio stream and direct play stream selection is not enabled” which may be relevant, although I have no idea how to enable this, nor why this may be interfering with the video stream.

Playing the same content with Emby, Jellyfin, and seems to work fine as expected in full 4K HDR with no modification of the default settings.

Anybody experiencing anything similar? Am I missing some small setting somewhere to fix this, or there perhaps a Plex-related bug here? I’ve already tried factory resetting the Shield, but it did not make a difference.

Many thanks in advance.

I had the Shield and Plex server on two different VLANs, and therefore was limited by the remote bandwidth setting. Removing fixed this.
