[Solved] Pausing causes videos to restart after post play

When watching a tv show and it goes to the next episode (using post play) sometimes if I pause the video (usually halfway through the video) it will restart from the beginning. There’s also an issue when trying to go ahead using chapters. It will attempt to go forward but then it just continues off from where you were at before attempting to skip ahead. Both of these issues only occur after moving to the next episode. It does not happen when playing the first video so I’m quite certain it’s an issue with the post play feature.

Edit: solved with Plex 1.3 (3010) update

Running on Windows 7, Plex Media Server 1.0.3.2461 and Plex 1.3 (2756) on the Apple TV.

I can confirm this issue on my side to.

Not the same but also about the post play. When finishing an episode and leaving the ATV on the post play screen and turning tv off and going to sleep. Plex web will show the status of still playing of the episode. It does not clear the status until leaving the post play screen.

Did some testing with the new version that just came out (2919). I’m still getting the issue but I think I learned how the restarting issue can be reproduced.

So after your video goes to the next episode using post play, wait until you’re 30 seconds to a minute into the video (the time doesn’t matter too much it’s just so that you can notice it going back to zero). Next, if you try pausing/playing the video quickly you shouldn’t notice any issues. However, if you pause and wait about 5 seconds and then try replaying again you should notice it go back. Could anyone else confirm this on their end?

Edit: It only happens when pressing the pause/play button. Pausing the video by pressing the trackpad doesn’t have the same issue.

I made a video of me reproducing the issue. Notice, how it has no issue the first time when I test it before going through the post play screen.

Edit: Just upgraded to the latest beta Plex 1.3 (3010) and all the issues I had are gone now (including the chapters issue). Removed the YouTube vid for now since it’s no longer needed.
