[SOLVED] Plex Media Player does not passthrough TrueHD, DTSMA, etc

Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: PMP 2.58.0.1076-38e019da

Hi,

I used to run Plex on Firestick, but because it does not passthrough DTS, TrueHD. I had to switch to Win PMP connected directly to my AVR.

my setup as follows:
CPU Intel Core i7-4790K
M/B: MSI Z97 GAMING 9 ACK
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 980 GAMING 4G, updated to latest version of the driver
AVR: Denon H4500X
Speakers: 5.1.2

I have enabled all the passthrough in PMP, yet when I play any TrueHD or DTSMA I get stereo.
every setup that I have read about I tried to make but with no luck.

Dolby atmos: works fine
TrueHD: no
DTA-MA: no

what do I have to do to make this work?

SOLUTION: Open nVidia Control Panel. Click “Change Resolution.” Dial it down a notch (or two). All supported audio formats should then become re-activated.

Get a new video card that has HDMI 2.0a or higher with a HDMI 2.0 cable.

Thanks for posting the solution!
Does it again stop working when you raise the resolution afterwards?

Yup as soon as you put it back to highest resolution, the passthrough stops working.

Well in the resolution change menu there are 2 4Ks i simply chose the 2nd one, which is 2160x3xxx (something)
In fact the 2160x3xxx display windowed movies better
