[SOLVED] Unable to claim after plex password change

It’s about 4 days i try to understand what happend. I follow a lot of post and suggestion all around but nothing change. I delete preference.xml but still nothing. Unable to see where to claim since the new strange interface. There is no claim place anymore. The server look to be running, the plugin are laoded etc but i’m unable to see the server from the web page and claim it.

Any help could be nice cause i don’t what to do. I try also to create a new jail and install a fresh new plex server but same result…

Are you using app.plex.tv or the hosted web app on the local server?

If you can’t use the local web app (which is very likely happening since you wiped Preferences.xml) try the ssh tunnel method explained here:

It was happening before i remove the Preferences.xml Also i’m unable to do that trick with ssh tunnel because i’m already in a VPN on this server and it’s on a freenass in a jail where there is no ssh installed….

And i can use the local web app, no problem about that. If i turn off the jail i can’t reach it and if i turn on i can so i’m sure it is. But it doesn’t work. I can’t claim the server.

So you can reach the web app but nothing happens when you press claim? That’s a different thing, some users run into trouble reaching the webapp after wiping Preferences.xml so I though this was the same case.

Can u post a sceenshot of what’s in the “claim screen” (Server Setting -> General)

Not exactly i can’t see the claim Anywhere. When i logout and login again there is no option to claim.

So as i explained and i’m now on 1.13.8.5388-509720743-freebsd-amd64

I have no possibilities to claim. I have no claim button anywhere. I’m unable to use plex since a week now. The servers you see on the screenshot are my laptop and a another server.
As i understand i don’t have the server tab in settings :confused:

That is not the screenshot I requested… but It clearly state you don’t have a linked freebsd server, so it seems to confirm what you are saying.

If you try to directly access FREBSD_LAN_IP:32400/web/index.html#!/settings/web/general do you get an error?

Also if you use http://app.plex.tv/desktop?secure=0 does that list the un-claimed server?

And no error with the direct access link for …/web/general :frowning:

Can you post a screen of what you see there please? That’s the screeshot I was asking for before.

I found the solution… It was the VPN and i did a redirection like explain on the localhost of the web page and everything went fine. He found the server and i was able to claim it ^^

Glad you were able to fix it, I suggest that same approach before and now that you even mention a VPN is in place its indeed the best way.
