Some content, subtitles not in sync on iPhone

Hi. I usually exclusively use my AppleTV for playback. Today I was watching a show, and decided to continue watching on my iPhone when we left the house. I have very little experience with the mobile app.

The AppleTV played the subtitles perfectly in sync. However, my iPhone 15 has the subtitles about two seconds sooner than they should be. So this brings two questions:

  1. Why does the AppleTV play the subtitles perfectly in sync, but not the iPhone?
  2. Is there no way to adjust the subtitle offset in the iPhone player?

I will mention, I have Plex set to play the full file (no transcoding), and this was verified with the Dashboard, all three streams (HEVC, OPUS, ASS) indicated as direct play. I also played the next episode, and it was synced correctly, so it seems to affect only some content.

The AppleTV plays it all back perfectly in sync.
