I’m having an issue where Plex is not importing some music albums (mp3 format). The strange thing is, these albums used to be in my library at some point, but they’ve since disappeared. I’ve confirmed correct permissions (music folder and all subfolders have full permissions, 0777). I’ve tried re-scanning the individual artists affected, as well as my entire music library.
I’m seeing the following error in the plex logs for said albums:
[FFMPEG] - Opening ‘mp3/Bill Callahan/Dream River/08 - Winter Road.mp3’ for reading
Match: Caught exception opening file: Could not parse mp3/Bill Callahan/Dream River/08 - Winter Road.mp3 (error=-1094995529): Invalid data found when processing input
The thing is, if I run ffprobe on these files, it is able to parse and return any tags I request. I’m not seeing any issues with the tags themselves. They are v3.2.4 like the vast majority of my music. The files can be opened in every media player I’ve tried, without issue. Debug logging hasn’t revealed further helpful info.
I’ve gone through all the tags, removing extraneous fields so they match exactly other albums by the same artist that are appearing in Plex (the same fields, different content depending on the album, of course). I’ve even gone and re-entered some of the data by hand in case there’s some issue with one of the characters that I’m not seeing (I’ve had that happen before).
This is baffling.
