My family photos and videos are organized by year from 1997 to 2018. So when I click on Photos, I see each year. All years have a thumbnail photo except for 2011 to 2016, which just show a gray camera icon. I tried rescanning the Photos library, which did not help. I’m guessing there are something in these folders preventing Plex from parsing them correctly. I believe I can manually add photos to those that are missing them. Is there anything else I could try to correct this issue?
Try Analyze instead of scan - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/200289336-analyze-media/
If problem persists collect the logs after the analysis completes together with screenshot

Ensure that debug logging is enabled on the server beforehand - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/

Thanks for your help. But I just went to each folder and manually added a “poster”. While doing this I found that some photos could not be used and generated an error. That’s probably the cause of the thumbnails not being displayed in the first place. It was no big deal to do, and is actually preferable, as I can actually select a photo I prefer for the poster.
