Some Posters NOT Showing Up

Whenever I try to change a poster everything becomes slow and it takes a few minutes for it to finish. When it does finish however, the poster goes blank. When I try to select a different poster for a TV Show, it’s fine, I have no problems with it and it changes it on the spot.

what are you trying to change it to? I guess I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want the official one?

This is one example:

The poster selected for Caché is cropped. I’ve got southamerican or european films which I like to be displayed with the posters in their original language instead of english… But besides that, whenever I wanted to choose a different poster for my movies ('cause maybe I like another design better) I could do it without any complications, this started happening our of nowhere… I would like to do it because it’s supposed to be a feature of Plex.

I just tried to select another poster and, just like I said, this happened:

I can’t replicate what you’re seeing at all. The only conclusion i can come to is it’s a Windows issue. Firewall / Antivirus perhaps?

Please observe.

  1. I create Caché as you have it named and it matches immediately with artwork
  2. I “Edit” the poster (you see the default here)
  3. The newly selected shows instantly.

Yes, that’s why I find this so strange… I seem to be the only one experiencing it. I’ve even reinstalled Windows on my PC and it’s still going. I’ve tried editing them from a different PC without my antivirus and nothing. It shows up like that on every device I have (cellphone, android TV, windows PC).

Time for some windows help

@OttoKerner Sorry to ping you but can you help here? I don’t see the issue

I’d like to know which agent is set as the default in the properties of this library.
Edit your library, go to the ‘Advanced’ tab, look what is set under ‘Agent’

And then I’d like to see how this metadata agent is configured
under Settings - Server - Agent - Movies - [agent name]
Please make a screenshot there

I just found one interesting point.

Caché (2005)

2005 , not 2006

Hi, thank you for your time. (Sorry the settings are in spanish)

Agent: Plex Movie

Yes, my file is named Cache (2005)… you meant that?

You have ‘Video previews’ activated. These can take up quite an amount of storage.
You say your system SSD is just 120 GB.
How much free space do you have left on it?

Did you ‘expand’ this storage volume in Windows, to have more space?

My SSD (which doesn’t store any films or episodes) has 89,8GB of free storage.

Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean by this.

This is what I have on the PC that stores my PMS:
Both HDD’s store all the files and the SSD stores the OS and PMS.

Windows allow you to ‘expand’ a hard drive with a second hard drive, the resulting drive will appear to the user as one big drive.
But it doesn’t look like you did this.

Plex stores its own data on c: by default. That’s why I asked if there is enough space left.
Just to make sure: do a right-click on drive C:, ‘Properties’
What is written there as ‘file system’? (It should be ‘NTFS’)

But please update your server to the last beta version. Yours is slightly out-of-date.
There might have been an update recently which is relevant to movie metadata.

Yes, the file system is NTFS. I’ll update the server and see what happens. Thanks!

Ok, I’ve updated the server.

Do you have ‘debug logging’ activated on the server?
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201643703 (not ‘verbose’!)

If not, do it please.
Then shut down the server.
Then clear out the local agent caches again
https://support.plex.tv/articles/202967376-clearing-plugin-channel-agent-http-caches/
Then start the server again and let it sit for ~ 5 minutes, doing nothing.

then ‘Refresh Metadata’ on one movie.
Wait another 3 minutes, then fetch log files please and drag them into a post here.

Ok, done as you asked:
Plex Media Server Logs_2018-07-15_18-37-27.zip (2.6 MB)

Something is wrong. I see a lot of internal errors when the agent downloads posters.

In the mean time, could you open this URL with a web browser and copy the resulting data back into a post, please?
