Which is the optimal resolution for Movie-Covers, TV-Show-Covers and Episode-Covers?
And how i naming the Special-Covers? I’ve tried “Specials.jpg” and “Season00.jpg” but both seems don’t work.
There is no optimal resolution, because every plex client uses different sizes.
Rule of thumb: use the biggest size you can obtain (e.g. 1000x1500 px or 2000x3000px are usual sizes)
Plex server will scale them down to the client’s needs automatically.
Having them available in such a big size makes sense when you at some point get a shiny new 4K Tv screen. And the automatic resizing produces better results if the original file has a much bigger resolution.
With album art it is similar. I try to get sizes over 1000px
(Of course do not embed these sizes into your audio files! Just put them into the album folder as folder.jpg)

possible ‘side car’ files for music
Sorry to hijack this thread but I think my question here is related, kind of regarding ‘side car’ files for music. I am not able to find a solution, maybe you can point me in the right direction @OttoKerner? (Deutsch geht auch klar)
