I am considering getting the Plexpass for some of the features in the current version of the PMS software. However i am wondering how me having plexpass works when sharing servers with members who are not plexpass and are simply free members.
Asking for both sides of it, as many details as possible. For example on my side will i still see things like the multi user features when they connect, and on that note can they connect as part of the multi user system, or would they default back to the basic older simple shared servers? Also as a plexpass member server i would want to use HTTPS(not sure if thats in full swing yet or not, just noticed it was in the works pending client updates), would non plexpass members be able to use HTTPS. Could i also force HTTPS on all shares when aplicable(similar to my apache2 webserver being setup to force all http connections over to https).
As of right now, i use Apache2 with HTML5 video tags for most of my media streaming needs. This of course is quite limited and requires content be mp4 containers for the most part(easiest and most widely used of the supported container types right now). I still plan to continue using this in some instances, however getting full streaming of all media types, and streaming to some devices is just not possible with this method. So looking into Plex to fill that gap.
Had a few other thoughts, however now i have gone and forgot what they were. Mostly right now im concerned with HTTPS, the other 'features' would just be icing on the cake after HTTPS. Not much traffic goes out of my computers these days that is not encrypted to some extent. And without it i certainly would not consider using Plex outside of just testing it.

Ok just remembered the other feature i wanted to know about. The Samsung Smart TV App, it says it requires the server be installed/running on your network to stream. Does this mean there is no form of streaming to the Samsung Smart TV outside of local network/DLNA... which i already have using PS3MediaServer to my PS3/SamsungTV/XIOS DS
