Some recorded to shows not saving

I have recently tried to get the DVR function of Plex working for me.
In have had some success in scheduling upcoming to shows to record. But in other cases, on particular shows. Plex tells me that the episode has successfully recorded but the episode itself is no where to be found. Plex has created a folder for the show but nothing is in it.

Looking at the logs, the tuner appears to start (maybe, I’m not that good at reading the log file tbh). And the media server logs seem to show some sort of warning occurring when the show is scheduled to finish. I am doing another trial run to record this specific show in the next day. So can post the log files when I have the new data.

I am running Plex Media Server on a HP Proliant server with Windows 7. I am using a Hauppague WinTV SoloHD tuner.

I have also noticed some forum posts suggesting that the show’s settings might be triggering a immediate delete of the episode upon completion. I can see where to change this setting in Plex. Especially as I can’t even get a first episode to show up in my to library.

Hope someone can help here.

I am having a similar problem with it recording, but not showing up in the library when complete.

Check out @johnm_ColaSC 's suggestion. That has solved the problem for several people. The gist of the problem is that the deletion policies can be set both in the Recording Schedule and the Libraries Show entry under Advanced.

The deletion policy on my recording is set to “Never”. There is no policy on the library that I can see under any heading, even advanced.

The folder on my server that the library is set for has one folder in it called “.grab” and is empty.

I did try live TV and that works just fine though.

Screenshots of the recording settings and the settings for the show in the library would be helpful. Log files from when recording is made until complete may also help. If submitting log files include show and what time recording starts and ends.
