I have several TV programs that are setup to record and show in the program schedule. These programs do not record or either show a Triangle “Transcode Error” the programs have recorded in the past without any problems. Could this be related to some of the recent Plex Server updates? I do not have any problems with other programs just Two.
Yes, I have tried removing the recording and then selecting them again to record without any change. I know they are airing as I am using HDHomeRun DVR until Plex DVR improves its interface and shows to be a reliable product.
Could you post logs with details of the shows. Could also be related to using another DVR product for recordings and Plex record request being rejected by the HDHR tuner device because all tuners are in use.
I have 2 x HDHomeRun TV tuners which should give me up to 6 channels to view or record at a time. At the time slot only Two programs are scheduled to record so don’t think this should be the issue.
Show details? Would rather not have to search through the entire logs. What show title, what time was it supposed to start, what time was it supposed to end, any message in Plex regarding the issue?
The problem shows are Good Morning America (GMA) and Today shows. The Today show randomly records and GMA never records even though it shows on the program schedule. Some shows show the triangle “an error occurred in post-processing this recording” . GMA does not show on the program schedule even though the programs shows to record on the Program Guide. Attached are screen shots of what I see.
Start time for both programs is 7:00 AM and end time is 9:00 am. I am not sure what other programs that are scheduled to record did not record.
On 2/10 it looks like the HDHR device refused the connection request by Plex to a tuner for GMA:

The Today show that morning also failed because Plex did not find an audio or video stream coming from the device.

The stream being received by Plex from the HDHR device had no audio or video data that could be determined when starting the recording. Perhaps verify the channel is able to be viewed by using VLC or some other application that can view a network stream. Enter the same URL for the channel the recording would have been recording from into VLC using the Media menu/Open Network Stream option.
I am recording all of the problem channels on HDHomeRun DVR without any problem so why is Plex not able to detect audio or video data. These same channels can be viewed in Live mode in my HDHomeRun DVR however I have not checked Plex in Live mode. I will check.
Checked the Live stream today 02/19/2018 and Two scheduled recordings show a Yellow triangle. When I selected the program on Live stream the message “Unable to Tune Channel” was displayed. Again no problem with HDHomeRun either in Live or DVR mode.
