I’m running Plex Server on a Mac (with MacOS High Sierra) and have a HD HomeRun CONNECT with 2 tuners and the latest firmware.
Until recently (I’m not sure when exactly), Plex DVR had been working really well but now it often fails to record and this seems to be getting worse. Often the recording would not be made and simply disappear from my recording schedule. Slightly differently just now, I noticed a recording was still in the schedule over 24 hours after the programme finished - I also noticed from the Plex menubar that it was ‘transcoding 4 streams’ or similar although I wasn’t watching anything. When I stopped the transcoding, the recordings appeared in my main page however they were just a few minutes each.
When it works, the recording quality is superb and I otherwise really like using Plex - but I really need to rely on it to record.
I’m relatively new to Plex, so apologies for any lack of detail - if someone can point me to logs etc to check and/or post to this question I’m happy to do so.
I am having the same issue - Most if not all of my scheduled recordings do not record and now some of the recordings I have scheduled do not show up in the scheduled recordings list. Very frustrating.
@jamesgbeaumont sounds like you are running into the 100% Recording issue discussed in other threads.
@tunage not much information posted about your issue so can’t provide much insight. Have you looked at the logs to see if you can determine whether the recording actually started, did it finish and get removed by garbage collection, or is something else going on. As far as shows not appearing in the scheduled recording list the logs will tell you exactly why it is not showing up. Could be because you have selected new airings only and the show you are questioning is not marked as a new airing in the EPG, or perhaps Plex sees you already have an episode that is scheduled to air in your library so is not going to record it again. Whatever the case is the log will state why the airing of an episode is not going to record.
A new beta version was released yesterday that has several DVR fixes. You might try the new version to see if it resolves the issues for you.
Thanks, I’ll see how it goes with the latest Beta. Searched the forums for 100% Recording and it does look like a lot of people are having similar problems.
