Some shows not recording

I am fairly new to using Plex DVR. I have several shows that are set to record and Plex says that the recordings are successful but they do not show up in TV Shows (or anywhere else). I checked the schedule for the shows that are not recording and there are no conflicts. FYI - Some recordings of other shows are working correctly. How do I figure out why they are not recording (even though Plex thinks the recordings are successful)?

Would need to see logs for timeframe in question. Include show and start/end time of recording.

Example - I tried to record “The Gifted” last night at 9 PM but it did not work. Although it says the recording was 100% complete. I have attached a screenshot and logs. Please let me know if you need anything else.

Do you have good signal quality on the channel? Seeing lots of errors like below with Transcoder during recording:

How do I determine the signal quality - is there a measurement tool or do I just try to watch each channel?

You need to be viewing a channel to look at the signal quality. I normally use VLC to open a network stream, on File Menu in VLC. You can get the stream information by viewing the tuner device using my.hdhomerun.com going into channels I think, not at home now so can’t verify. From the list of channels right click on the link for the channel and chose Copy Link Address. Then from VLC paste the link into the Network Stream dialog box and start the stream. you should then see the channel playing in VLC. While the channel is playing go back to my.hdhomerun.com and view the tuner status. Click on the tuner that is playing and look at the signal quality, signal strength, and symbol quality. Ideal you want these numbers high, I generally run around 98-100 on my tuners at home. The lower the numbers the more likely you are experiencing signal issues.

Signal strength is 66 and signal quality if 42 (see screenshot). Is that my problem? What is the minimum required for recording to Plex DVR?

I’m not aware of any written minimum but those are pretty low. There was a new thread where a Plex Employee I believe did some testing with his setup and antenna, can find that thread here: http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1530411#Comment_1530411. Might want to look at possibly moving antenna to a better location,

Why does it say 100% complete for the recording? Shouldn’t there be an error if it can’t record?

Why is there no error if the recording does not work? Why does it say 100% complete?

@markccni because the recording got to 100% recorded and more than likely the PlexTranscode process that reassembles all the 1 second recording files to support Live TV and time shifting into a complete recording stopped. You should be able to see the error listed in the Plex Media Server log file at some point after the recording got to 100%.
