I use to collect a couple of movies on my mac before moving them en bloc to my Synology Nas. Then, invariably, something strange happens.
The titles of movies beginning with articles like “The”, “A”, “Le” which are removed from the search title are transformed back to the name of the enclosing folder, where I append that article with a " ! ". So it is definitely not a form of the title associated with the movie file.
Doing a metadata update usually fixes this problem. That is, the Plex server does find the correct title after being told to do so.
The Synology is using the AFP protocol, the Mac mini running the server has to use Smb. But this does not seem to be problem for any other kind of titles such as including diacriticals.
Any ideas?
