There’s a problem that’s bugging me for quite a few months now and i can’t find a solution: i have some movies in my library that every now and then are re-indexed as “recently added” in Plex.
Movies are stored on a NAS, mounted on a MAC via AFP. The only thing they seem to have in common is related to the filenames: the movie title (in italian) contains special characters like "è"or “ò” or “à”.
Do you have any idea on how to solve the problem? Thanks!
I had the same issue with 2 foreign movies for a long time - both had accented characters, ä and ò and both were on my Drobo (mounted via AFP).
Change the file names (and folder names, if you have them in subfolders with subtitle files) to remove the accented characters in my case ä to a and ò to o. The metadata agents will still get the right movie, and the interface will still display the right characters in the movie name, but Plex won’t see them as new movies every time it scans the file/s.
