Some tracks aren't using my local metadata

Server Version: 1.22.0.4163

Two of the albums in my music library are completely disregarding my local metadata and instead using data found through Plex Music. This wouldn’t normally be too much of an issue, but the albums are from Taiwanese artists and are therefore half of the metadata isn’t in English. Additionally, some information (like the album artist and a couple of song names) are entirely wrong.

My library settings have “prefer local metadata” ticked, but for some reason it’s just disregarding the local data. I’ve tried refreshing the metadata, rescanning the library, and even remaking the library from scratch yet nothing seems to be fixing the issue.

Is there another setting I’m missing? I would normally just use the “fix match” option but there are no matches with the correct data.

There’s a little more than just the one setting. See this How-To:
[HowTo] Configure Plex to use embedded metadata (music)

I’ve configured all of those settings as well and I’m afraid it’s still not using my local metadata.

I’ve just remembered that these files are WAV format instead of FLAC. I doubt that will make a difference, but it’s the only other reason I can think of for why these two albums could be behaving differently.

That does make all the difference. Plex cannot read embedded meta tags from WAV files.
Best way forward is to convert to Flac.

Thank you! I wasn’t aware that Plex couldn’t read metadata from WAV files. It’s a shame, but I converted to FLAC and it’s all working now.
