At some point in the past few months behavior on the Android app has changed for me. Before, I could play different songs, click the 3-dot button in the bottom right to see the star rating, and touch it to change the rating in half-star increments. Now in the app all the ratings for songs display as the exact same rating as the first song I play (e.g. I click a song which is 3 star and I see 3 stars, but when I click next to go to the next song which should be 4 star, it still displays as 3 stars). This persists until I completely stop the player, and play a new song. Potentially related, when I do try to change the rating, the new star rating is now displayed for all songs I play and the rating change is not reflected in the server.
Quick update, after further experimenting, it looks like when I change the rating, the rating does actually change. However it is changing the rating of the first song I clicked on, not the current song. So I can click on song #1 with rating of 4, go to song #2 with rating of 3, the stars that are displayed is 4 (corresponding to the first song), and if I change the rating to 5 stars, then in my server the rating of song #1 changes to 5 not song #2.
So it seems like the rating box is locked permanently to the first song you play.
