I am so frustrated. I have been a plex user for years now and never had issues like this. I had a playlist with about 65 songs in it. In June, after an update, I noticed that my playlist only had 3 songs in it. I quickly did a database restore and was lucky enough to retrieve it. Now it just happened again. I tried to restore the 4 backups in my databases folder but all only showed 3 songs. Have I lost my whole playlist? Do I have to start over from scratch? Is there anyway to just see a text list of the music I had in my playlist? I don’t know what to do. Please help!
Is there anyone who can help me? I do not receive any warnings. I just lose 98% of my playlist music. I do not want to have to add my music to the playlist again only to have this happen.
Same here. miss my lost playlist
The only reasons why items should disappear from a playlist would be:
- It was removed purposefully from the playlist,
- it’s a smart playlist and the filter for that playlist now excludes these items,
- the original files were deleted from that library.
There is always a possibility of a unknown bug but without any debug info like logs or a copy of the affected database it would be almost impossible to tell.
Does the playlist ‘poster’ have an overlaid ‘cog wheel’ icon on it? If so, it is a smart playlist that gets updated automatically if the filter criteria no longer apply, which were used to create it.
(simplest example: show me all songs that are ‘unplayed’. If you play this smart playlist, it will get shorter and shorte, because all those unplayed songs are now no longer ‘unplayed’.)
I do not have any smart playlists and have had multiple instances of losing all the content in multiple playlists (music is still in the library, just not in the playlist) This last time I lost seven playlists.
