I have two (2) music “type” libraries. One of the libraries is for standard music (MUSIC), and the second library (AUDIO) is for podcasts, audio books, etc. Because of the content type, the files in the second library tend to be a lot bigger.
A couple of months ago I enabled “sonic analysis” on the MUSIC library. It took about a week to complete, but eventually finished and seems to be working fine.
I did NOT turn on “sonic analysis” for the AUDIO library. However, whenever the server maintenance window takes place, I receive a notification in the activity monitor that their are two “albums” in the AUDIO library that are being sonically scanned for loudness information. It seems to be the same two albums, both of which were added recently. It has been a couple of weeks now, and it never seems to finish. As I understand it, this library should not be getting scanned for sonic characteristics at all since I have the setting turned off.
I tried turning off the Scheduled Task settings “Update all libraries during maintenance” and “Perform extensive media analysis during maintenance” and it still continues.
I’m not sure if this is a bug, or I am just not understanding what the expected behavior should be.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
