Stuck: Sonic Analysis Processing 1 Albums

Server Version#: 4.128.1 Ubuntu Server 22.04

I recently, successfully, completed a server to server transfer. Following the transfer there is an issue that won’t go away. The Activity status constantly shows, “Sonic Analysis: Processing 1 Albums”

Plex Media Server Logs_2024-04-23_06-22-39.zip (4.5 MB)

Edit: I have searched the logs for any messages related to “MusicAnalysis” and found none.

This is the last error related to audio file analysis

You might want to disable sonic analysis for your audio book library in general. It doesn’t make much sense to perform it on spoken word content.

Apart from that, you might want to verify the validity of that mp3 file and its metadata.
I am not sure though if there is suitable software available on MacOS.

Here is one for Windows, though. You might be able to run it in WINE: MP3 Diags download | SourceForge.net

Agree 100%, but sonic analysis is disabled for that library.

What’s more is I only have 4 authors in my audiobooks collection because I haven’t bought very many. Stephen King isn’t one of them. I only have audiobooks by GRR Martin, JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling, and Neil Gaiman.

This folder structure does not exist in my network share.

/Volumes/Plex Overflow 3/Audiobooks/Stephen King - Skeleton Crew/

I was performing most of the migration using a macbook, a mac mini, and ssh to the two servers. Incidentally, those are both my “work” devices and it was just a matter of convenience. Neither of them have ever been used to do anything other than use plex web, plex for mac, or plexamp.

Sorry, I must have picked the wrong set of logs.

After taking another look, it appears that all the analysis logs are containing only events pertaining to loudness analysis. No sonic analysis whatsoever to be found.

Did you add a high number of music albums? Doing so might have caused the logs with sonic analysis to get flushed out. If you can, produce a situation where only sonic analysis is left to be done. Then fetch the logs again.
