Sonic Analysis and checking log zip if all is ok please

Server Version#: Version 1.24.4.5081
Player Version#: Version 4.67.1

Hello,
I have been reading a lot that sonic will take a long time - I am ok with this. However, looking at the console this AM and seeing that it seems my sonic analysis is not even switching on on the console - well very rarely looking at the log - and that I am getting it seems a lot of time outs - I’d like to know is this is the reason I am not getting sonic started?

I changed the schedule to all day to make sure this was not the reason it was not working too.

Any help with the log file if anything comes up would be much appreciated thanks - as my CPU seems to work hard - but not getting any logs in console from sonic.in app.plex.tv

I see the wheel turn - I see processing albums - but trying to see how long it may take from posts i read to look at console, filter sonic, and hardly nothing comes up.

Maybe something is stopping it?

I am also getting this error a lot:
SSDP: Error parsing device schema for http://192.168.1.33:8888/upnp_descriptor_0
This seems points to my Onkyo Amp IP address…

Thanks in advance.

Ben

Plex Media Server Logs_2021-10-14_09-43-26.zip (6.6 MB)

Just an update of how slow it is:- hoping for advice thanks

It is very slow… depending on your processor… I am cranking away with all 4 cores… going on like 45 days now… but should be done within a couple of days. I can only process 650 albums in 24 hours. Seems decent but when you have 26K… takes a bit. Seems like yours is processing but due to the amount of albums you have (I assume you have a decent amount), it will take awhile.

I have an Intel Core i5 4570 @ 3.20GHz
I have about 35,000 tracks in total - in 800ish different folders… in Plex showed 464 albums
It is very slow…

You can set how many cores it uses if that is not a problem to speed things up. I did this on my NAS device and it’s maxed out the whole time.

Advanced settings.

Set this: LongRunningJobThreads to the total amount of cores you have.

This will speed it up.

Thank you - I am assuming i need to reboot my PC for this to work if i add it to my regedit?
Also if I have 4 cores - should I put 8 threads?

It does say threads so if you want to do the max, that should be fine. However, you don’t want to totally max out your PC unless this is the only thing it is used for. You could try setting it to 7 and make sure you notice a difference when you reboot and it starts running the process again. I can see mine is at 100% all the time and someone might not want that.

Thanks again,
For my CPU - its only 4 core/4 threads so had to change it back to 3 as with 4 it was overheating my CPU on my stock cooler lol

I did from the processing wheel 7 albums in 24 hours… ouch lol

Will keep am eye on it moving forwards - may give my CPU a break though as not too happy for it to run 24 hours nearly maxed out as it is pretty old and averaging temps of 80 to 90c while doing the sonic analysis… (on 4 was 100!)

So my Sonic Analysis has completed yesterday - total time just under 5 days running 24/7 for over 35,000 tracks ish - with an old CPU and no GPU.

What I noticed is that it was speeding up as it did its job - and from the start of slow - it started to update quicker…

Thx for all the help and heads up
