Sonic sage with openAI token and plexamp

thanks for the Tips.

  1. no blocking
  2. Music is “not” disabled
  3. When you say “local” I assume you mean my MacOS laptop? The library shows all my followed artists, some playlists, and a few hundred albums. None are downloaded though. I only use TIDAL, I don’t have any physical files on my Plex server or laptop.

Hope this helps…

So do you have the “Source” selection in Plexamp set to your server’s music library or to Tidal?

It is set to “On TIDAL”

I think this is a bug.
Plexamp was not really tested with your use case, because it is not very useful for someone without a local music library. When compared to the native Tidal app.

I have a large local library and also a Tidal account. Sage builds a playlist using both. This is a very interesting update indeed.

We’ll be added TIDAL-only usage for the next release!

Ahh that explains it!! Thank you for explaining this. I am sure it’ll be helpful for the community.

I sure hope this feature will not be dependent on Tidal soon. I have an extensive server library because I don’t want to pay for cloud-based streaming services. I curate out of print Jazz that doesn’t appear very often on services catering to a young mainstream audience.

it’s unlikely the feature would work with a bespoke catalog such as that, because the AI doesn’t know what music is in your library.

I am in PlexMediaServer-1.32.1.6999 for Windows but I don’t see Sonic Sage setting.
I have Tidal subscription.

Sonic Sage has nothing to do with Plex Server. Look in the settings of Plexamp.

Ok, thanks for the fast replay.

I’m not seeing the Sonic Sage setting at all. I’m on Plexamp 4.7.0 and I’m looking in Setting>Advanced, but it’s not there?

Never mind. You have to have “Experimental Features” enabled in your Plex Music Server. Then the Sonic Sage option shows up.

Sonic Stage works great so far. Right now I’m on the OpenAI API Free Key Trial but will probably pay for it when it expires , if the playlists keep being these good.

That has no effect.

Not sure what to say. It wasn’t there until I enabled it.

Probably Plexamp needed time to see the TIDAL linkage? I honestly don’t even know what that “Experimental Features” toggle is

Is a paid dev plan required for OpenAI? Is that why I am see a “you have run out of credits” message when trying Sonic Stage?

yes, it costs money. very small amounts of money, but you still need a paid account.
