Hello, I have my pc set up as a plex media server for use on my local network, it has a ryzen 5 5600x and RTX 3070 with 16gb of ram, so it is more than enough for 4k playback. I’m trying to watch some 4k movies (Non HDR) with DTSHD audio. I have a Sony HTA7000 soundbar, which is connected to my tv with an hdmi earc cable. The tv is accessing the network via wifi, as I have read that the wifi built into the A80J is of a higher bandwith than the 100mbps ethernet port (also the tv is wall mounted so I cant really get at the port anyways) I have checked the dashboard on the plex server and it says that video and audio is direct playing, which I confirmed on the tv. The video and audio is working perfectly, however the film buffers every 20 seconds or so. Plex displays the bandwith on the dashboard as being 176mbps, so it should be playing the film perfectly right? Any advice on how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.
In short your TV does not support DTS pass thru
Is that what is causing the video to buffer? I checked the display on the soundbar and it indicates that DTS is coming through
I’m very new to plex btw
