I am new to Plex and a wi-fi enabled blu ray player. I just purchased a Sony BDP-S790 partially because of its supposed ability to play back many file formats. I just set up my Plex server on my Macbook Pro. I have a remote hard drive attached to my wireless router. Previously, I would hook my laptop directly up to my TV and watch through VLC Player streaming movies off the remote hard drive. Plex Server seems to be working fine since I can watch any file format in Plex, on the computer, with no problems (streaming does seem significantly slower than just watching through VLC). I can see my Plex server on my Sony Blu Ray player and can look through all of my movies (loading is slow though). However as soon as I select a movie to watch (regardless of file type, AVI, MKV, MPG, etc) I receive the "Cannot Load Data" error message. Does anyone have any clue why this may be? I would understand if it were some file types and not others but this appears to be a global issue. Any help or suggestions would be great.
Also, just tried to play music and I get the error "There is no playable file." I can see all of my music, just like my movies, but no playback.

Now I can still look thru all my folders, but when I go to play one it tells me there is no playable file. Before the update it would play the same file just fine. Like I said I can still see all the folders, it just tells me no playable file. That's on mkv avi mp4, nothing will play. PLEASE help me I don't know what else to do!

I have the same problem on sony bluray 3D S-5100 after updated the plex . Tried hours no luck. But I can play iTunes and some how the photo becomes very blur !!!!
